About Susan McLean, CFRE

Susan McLean (CFRE), has distinguished herself through her contributions to the charitable and non-profit sector with more than 20 years of successful fundraising, and as an advocate for developing innovative and responsible management practices.
In 2002, she was selected as Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation’s first Chief Executive Officer, having been with the organization since its inception in 1989. She is responsible for overseeing the Foundation’s comprehensive integrated fundraising and uses a variety of diversified programs and innovative methodologies to meet the growing needs of the hospital.
With a degree in Fund Raising Management from Laurentian University, her unyielding commitment to developing excellent relationships and being an active, contributing member of the community continues to drive her very important work today. She has been a member of the Fanshawe College Faculty of Continuing Education, teaching on effective capital campaign management in the Fund Development program.
Receiving many awards and accolades, Susan was named the 2003 recipient of the “Sirius Award” for Fund Raising Excellence, awarded by the London and Region Fund Raising Executives (LRFRE). She has served on boards of a number of non-profit organizations dedicated to community service and fundraising. Currently, she is a member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and the Canadian Association of Gift Planners.
